Word of the Day.

One word from your own language, every day.
Everyone in the network sees it and hears it together.

How it works
01
One word each day

Each morning a new word from the network’s own reviewed word list appears at the top of the Receive and Culture tabs: the word in its own spelling, how to say it, what it means, and an example.

02
Listen

When a speaker has recorded the word, a Listen button plays it, with the speaker’s name. Families, classrooms and the museum can hear the same word the same day.

03
Your speakers record it

People the office allows can tap Record this word, often an elder with a young volunteer holding the phone. The recording appears once someone the office chose has approved it.

What you can count on

Made so a language is heard every day, on the community’s own terms.

Word of the Day
The office decides
The office chooses who may record words and who approves them. Nothing is played until it is approved.
Your words only
Words come only from your own network’s reviewed list. A word can be kept out of the rotation, or shown only in certain months.
Private recordings
Recordings are stored privately and play only for members of the network. They are not posted on social media.
Credit to the speaker
Every recording carries the name of the person who spoke it.
The word list, lessons and recordings that sit behind the daily word.

Hear your language
every day.

Private to your network. Your words and voices stay yours.
